How can we help?
Help for Arca Mail Backup. If you can't find what you need, write to us.
Arca Mail Backup isn't released yet. Until it is, the quickest answers are in the FAQ, and we're happy to answer anything else by email.
Help topics
Connecting accounts
IMAP, Gmail with an app password, and Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 with Microsoft sign-in.
Destinations and storage
Mac disks, NAS and S3-compatible storage such as Wasabi, and what each plan includes.
Restoring and migrating
Bring deleted mail back into the same account, or restore an imported .mbox into your account.
Opening a backup without Arca
Plain mbox files, a manifest and a README in every destination.
Encryption and recovery key
How age encryption will work, where your keys live and why the recovery key matters.
Plans and billing
Plans, levels and what happens if you stop paying. Payments and refunds go through the store.
Payments and refunds are handled by the store where you buy Arca
On Mac that's the Mac App Store, so Apple handles billing, subscriptions and refunds. When the Windows version is out, the Microsoft Store will handle purchases made there. Arca never takes payments or issues refunds itself.
- Apple: Manage your subscriptions
- Apple: Request a refund
- Microsoft Store: when the Windows version is out

- The kind of account: IMAP, Gmail or Microsoft

Share diagnostics safely
Arca can export its logs for us. They contain IDs, sizes and counts, never the content, subjects or addresses of your messages, and never passwords.
We will never ask for your passwords or recovery key
Arca doesn't need them for us to help you, and support will never ask for them. If someone does, it isn't us.
